Workforce Development
HCE offers intensive employee assistance programs that are unique to our social enterprise businesses, which include building maintenance services, digital printing, document scanning and shredding, and packaging and fulfillment. Our goal is to provide each person with disabilities with training, and basic skills proficiency to help them maintain their employment and train for advancement. We are also available as a resource for linkage with any needed additional support services, if and when the individual is interested.
Training includes programs aimed at increasing an individual’s life skills and marketable employment skills, including basic computer proficiencies (ie. spreadsheet creation and editing).

Digital Printing Career Training
As part of our workforce development services, HCE offers a 12-week intensive digital printing curriculum aimed at providing participants with the skills necessary to work in today’s Digital Printing industry.
Our program combines traditional classroom learning with hands-on print shop operations. Working in HCE’s digital print facility, participants will work on real customer jobs while meeting deadlines and delivering high quality, professionally produced products.

Training focuses on:
- Basic finishing skills (such as cutting, creasing, scoring, binding, padding, etc)
- Creation of successful print files; Correction/repair of faulty files
- Determination of best printing methods
- Operation of sophisticated digital printing presses
Following completion of the 12-week program, participants will be offered a national certification exam sponsored by the Graphic Arts Education Research Foundation and Skills USA. HCE will also provide job placement services to assist participants as they ascend to their new careers in the digital printing industry. Paid internships are also available.
To be eligible, applicants must be unemployed and no longer enrolled in school. The program is open to persons with and without disabilities.
