Mission / Vision

HCE provides individuals with disabilities and underserved members of our community the skills and support they need to achieve a successful path to employment. As a result, their lives are improved as they become independent and self-sufficient.

By providing these pathways to success in the workplace, HCE helps to improve the communities it serves…one person at a time.

Vision / Goals

HCE is committed to becoming the leading provider of vocational, rehabilitative, and social enterprise services to help persons with disabilities in New Jersey, New York and the entire tri-state area obtain jobs and grow within their chosen field of work. We aim to set the standard for other organizations that share our mission.

As an organization, we are committed to:

  • Advancing forward-thinking social ventures and innovative employment preparation programs that enable individuals with disabilities to become self-sufficient and to derive the satisfaction and rewards that come from entering the workforce.
  • Engaging the members of the communities we serve (including corporations, government entities and educational facilities) to ensure they are aware of the many services we provide. As our roster of clients grows, so grows our ability to provide employment to individuals with disabilities.
  • Providing high quality, professional business services to our clients.

How We Advance Our Mission / Acheive Our Goals

Hudson Community Enterprises operates social enterprise businesses that provide a variety of quality services to area businesses, including:

  • Document Scanning
  • Digital Printing
  • Shredding and Document Destruction
  • Building and Property Management
  • Packaging and Fulfillment

HCE offers a continuum of training and recruitment programs that provide social/workforce skills to persons with disabilities, with opportunities to join our workforce through our business enterprises.

Our business model includes collaborations with other non-profit organizations and federal, state, county and local workforce development systems to identify individuals with disabilities and link them with our employment opportunities. This model is offered throughout the tri-state area.

As HCE hires these individuals, they acquire a range of marketable skills in a work-based learning environment. The acquisition of these skills can result in a promotion to a more higher-skilled position within HCE’s organization or employment in the general labor market that would not have been possible prior to employment with HCE. Additionally, while working in some of these businesses, each individual is able to obtain a recognized post-secondary industry specific credential. This is unique offering and demonstrates a new and effective model of training/employment. In addition to facility-based training, HCE maintains a network of businesses which provide paid and unpaid internships in the field.
